Meticulously crafted with inspiration drawn from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, this residence offers a contemporary interpretation of a beloved classic. Our goal was to honor the prairie style by prioritizing horizontal lines over vertical elements. Key features include a generously illuminated and spacious living area, wooden ceilings that extend from the interior to the exterior, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living, and a secluded second floor dedicated to bedrooms.
The expansive front porch, a nod to Southern hospitality, serves as a welcoming space for neighbors and guests, fostering community interaction. This porch leads into a series of visually connected interior spaces, encouraging movement and socialization throughout the home. The interior’s open plan, supported by hidden steel beams, creates large, uninterrupted areas that feel both expansive and inviting, promoting physical activity and mental well-being through the sense of freedom these spaces provide.
While moving through the house, the landing of the staircase to the second floor offers a place to rest. It also works as a vestibule to access both private suites — if you take the half flight of stairs to the left, you will reach the main bedroom suite, while the right takes you to the guest suite.
