OpenTap is a fusion of historic charm and contemporary construction techniques. Inspired by the beauty of the region’s log cabins, we sought to create a modern space that pays homage to its rich heritage. Through innovative design choices and a commitment to eco-friendly practices, OpenTap stands as a testament to the blend of tradition and progress.
One of the standout features of OpenTap is the innovative use of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) wood panels, the first food and beverage concept to do so in the region. These exposed panels not only provide structural support but also serve as a beautiful finished surface. This sustainable approach adds a unique aesthetic and reduces the environmental impact of the building by helping to keep carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.
There are several focal points of OpenTap: “The Front Lawn” is a carefully designed outdoor space that invites patrons to revel in the joys of outdoor entertainment; “The Treehouse” mezzanine rises up through the heart of the gathering space, and a tree constructed of 4x4 cedar posts creates a unique and natural ambiance; “The Port” is a thoughtfully designed area dedicated to food truck parking.
OpenTap is more than just a gathering place; it’s an homage to the past and an inspiration for the future. With its historic inspiration, pioneering CLT construction, and captivating outdoor areas, OpenTap promises to be a destination where patrons can create lasting memories while enjoying the best of both worlds—old and new.
